RIP Maw Maw

    I just lost my Maw-Maw, my Best Friend, my Buddy.  She was the cartoon character Wonder Woman, I thought she could never die.  She was a Beautiful Black Woman, God called His Angel.  As a young child, I thought she had God's back door key and His emergency phone number.  Now she has left me. . .  As a grown man I still call her house hoping she will pick up.  I Love You Maw-Maw.

  Did God ground her for being a bad girl?  I may never know. . .

My Grandmother is now my Granddaughter

   as my grandmother rest in front of me, i give 3 strokes the blame.
paralyzed on her left side and her tongue no longer speaks. shame?
but she smiles even tho sadness is steering the game.
i can see pain in her eyes and tiredness in her body motion.
@ 1 point I asked Jah to help her but i now ask Him to lay her to rest.
today i cried as i told her, "I Love You and I thank you for life."
She can't speak, she constantly sleeps but I felt those helping hands as she tightened them with the message, "I Love You."  It was the longest she's been awake since she had the 1st of the 3 stroke last week.  
I told her, "Your faith in Jah is recognized by Him and it's ok for you to lie to rest. Don't fight it."
i now wipe her mouth, read to her, straighten her up in bed and make sure she's taken care of.  
I tried not to cry but sometimes tears speak words. I left with her knowing she was my life.


  She's my Granddaughter!

Congress is to Smooth to Play out the game!

  It takes your tax money to hire workers to lay the concrete you are sleeping upon.  So, you NYC protester you can sleep in, you've paid for your place to stay.  Shame on the evil politicians of this Country.

   How do you call yourselves worshipers of God when you're not willing to open your arms?  Do you realize that Slaves were treated like dogs by those who say they were true lovers of God.  So, why do you pray while degrading man today?  Realize that you speak as lovers of God but you don't apply any Christ-like ways.  Christ spoke of protecting the poor.

    If I didn't like the coach I wouldn't let him run his plays.  If I felt his system is the right system, we would take a delay of the game.  There isn't much time left for the head coach of the team,  so why don't you let the fans see that his plays don't work.  Then the school won't re-elect him as the coach next season?  So we want call any timeouts.  We'll let his game run out.


   Now I'll speak politics:
      "I think congress is smooth.  Really."  If I didn't want Obama to win I wouldn't let them run the plays I knew my defense couldn't stop and plays that will win benefit the country.  I see Congress standing in their huddle while  time is running down. "Yaw ain't smooth."  Congress is willing to take a delay of the game penalty until the game is over.

      I disagree with anyone comparing another human being to Hitler.  But that's freedom of speech!!  AMERICAN! WE HAVE FREEDOM OF SPEECH!!  I do not see a thing wrong with what Hank Williams Jr said.  He didn't call the president a "Nigger" or any type of racial comment was made.  And he didn't say a verbal threat to the President.  He said what he felt.
   Being a Black Man I have to take sides with Hank Williams.  BUT, Hank I have to say, "When you are a famous celebrity, you have to live like a famous celebrity.  Go ask your PR person."  NFL didn't mind you saying that and they might have agreed with you, but they are looking out for their pockets.  That's all that is.

   I've walked the streets of  "Wall Street" kicking an aluminum can that will make me a nickel.  Pocketing pennies that can my me a dime.  And wearing a gold chain that will make me a millionaire.  
  I left the Corporation Stock numbers at home.  It makes me sad seeing things fall.  I got dizzy seeing the number with the red arrow beside them rotating around the foot of my Television scene.

President Obama doesn't wipe my A$$ Travis and Cornell!!

   I am tired of you two being the weeds that try to suffocate my Black President.  You block the sunlight and suck up the rain as you guide my people in the direction of hate towards one another.  Our race is already a race that doesn't have opportunities as a Leader. Yes! What you're doing brings a civil war amongst my People.  Can I say, "Your People As Well?  Do You Deserve The Title?"   It doesn't have to be a historic war, the media promotes it with the words "Breaking News"!  I see my own people having these civil wars on Facebook, twitter and other sources of public access to the world, which drains into the gardens of our People.  It takes the Sun and Rain to create beauty in life but you are our weeds!!  I don't need President Obama to wipe my @ss!!!  My Mom/Dad did just fine!!!  Respect!


   I am a Strong Black Brotha' who was raised with @ss beatens,  neck chockin and face smackin discipline in the household.  "Thanks Mom/Dad, you alone raised a successful Lawyer, company Supervisor and myself."  It wasn't President Jimmy Carters responsibility to wipe my @ss!  It wasn't President Nixon's responsibility for my Mom/Dad to hold down a job and make sure she feed us!  As a struggling Beautiful Black Sista', she breast feed me and wiped my @ss as a bastard in need!  I didn't need President Carter or Nixon to wipe my @ss!


1969: Nixon didn't give me my 1st spank as I took my 1st breath of life!
1974: Ford didn't hold my Mom/Dad, as she dropped tears while leaving me for the 1st day of school!
1977: Carter wasn't there when school was no longer playground, lunch and naps.  It was study time.
1981: Reagan I didn't call upon you to help me give my 1st lip peak to Shannon Jammeson!
1989: Bush wasn't there when I lost my virginity!  "If you was, I wish you would have stopped me!"
1993: Clinton wasn't on stage with me when I did my 1st venue performance.
2001: "H*LL!  I don't know where you was Bush."
2009:  Because of the home discipline and moral values I received, President Obama doesn't have to wipe my @ss today.


   Our Uncle Sam's (Cornell and Smiley), I respect President Obama.  I support this Brotha'.  I do not agree with everything he does.  (I don't agree with everything my Mom/Dad does.).  BUT I have enough brains to know that a Black Brotha' can not go into the White House and push his Black people the way you want and expect a 2nd term as President of the US!  Wait and get pissed at Obama if he doesn't wipe your @ss on his 2nd term.  But don't expect to get everything feed to you on his 2nd term.  It still will be up to us to do for ourselves starting in the household.

  So (Cornell and Smiley) Uncle Sam's, once you step off your tour bus, ask the Brotha's and Sista's if they are 'Disciplining their children INSIDE their households.'  'Giving their children the opportunity to have a close relationship with Jah.'  'Jacking their jaws when their grades are not good.'  OR are they waiting for President Obama to come and wipe their @ss!

1.  HOME with strong Love, Communication and Discipline
2.  COMMUNITY and Church participation
3.  Parents have SCHOOL Communication with teachers
4.  In Occupation programs and after school Programs
5.  Future Career Focus and progress
      And Now Drive Your Bus into a community with those topic as your focus!  I'll tell you now, "President Obama want be there to hold your hands or wipe your @sses! He has other responsibilities!


   You (Cornell and Smiley) know it was a struggle when you were young.  You know we need to come together and not to blame.  During your childhood times were a lot more difficult.  You might have holla'd at the President but you knew the chances of being heard was slim.  So what did you do?  What we as Black People have been doing for 200+ years.  "We come together to make it happen!!"  Or did you get mad at the Presidents because he didn't wipe your @ss!


  President is helping with College Education, Employment and Health Care.  Doesn't that involve our black People?  So get off President Obama's back and be true to your race and community!  You have the Power to get together and work with our Parents, Teachers, Reverends and I can go own.  So we can point fingers at you, our community and myself but it does no good.  Let's get it done!


   I didn't need President Nixon to wipe my @ss and I sure don't need President Obama to.  Our Communities need You, "As Leaders".

  "Was Jesus called a Nigger in His/Her time? Or what was the title used to degrade Him/Her of His/Her race?"




   That is the mindset of human beings who have no respect for the creation of God.  God took time and put an effort into making a human, "In His/Her own image."  The Bible speaks of all races being. . . Christ-like.  (Him/Her will be used to label God and Christ. Whatever you conceive them to be is your business.)




    Take a second and feel the vibe around you.  Lets think about how much racism is still a dirty part of our society.  It is no longer a dirty thought in your minds or a sh*tty taste in your mouths.  It has crawled out of the minds of society and spit out of the mouth of man.  But we still have a long ways to go before it can be settled.
    I'm not bringing the subject up to receive my 40 acres and a mule.  I'm bringing it out!  I'm bringing it out as a Strong Successful Black Brotha', to say,  "I will no longer suck a pacifier!  I will no longer be pacified."  I'm sure you've heard Homosexual's who are proud of who they are.  They define their positive step forward as "Coming out of the Closet."
      As we realize that hate and racism are still strong topics, we experience today, we're not gonna call this "Coming out of the closet".  If Christ was torched and treated like Blacks,  "Jesus must have Been a Nigger Man".
     Now think America. . . Please sit back and relax. Lets meditate on this topic and what I'm about to say.  I'll give you 10 seconds to get ready . . . . . . . I would prefer that you lay down. . . . . . . Now take a deep breathe.  I will prove to you that Jesus was Black.
     Who was the last person you have heard about, that brought so much attention to the World we live in today.  He/She distracted the ways and lives of humans.  Just the sight of this Person either made ones think Love or speak, "Let's Kill Him/Her!"  Mankind put their hate upon His/Her shoulders while yelling,  "We Hate You!!  Because You are not one of us!".  That was in the minds, hearts and souls of ones who were not of His/Her kind.     I want You to think about the President of the United States of America.  The next few sentences you have already read but let it marinate in your mind.  President Obama has brought so much attention to the World we live in today.  He has distracted the ways and lives of humans.  Just the sight of him either makes ones think Love or speak, "Let's Kill Him!"  Mankind put their hate upon his shoulders while yelling,  "We Hate You!!  Because You are not one of use!".  That is in the minds, hearts and souls of ones who were "not of his kind".  When America 1st heard that someone, "who is not of their kind", will be running as the President. . . . hate, ignorance and racism opened it's door wider.  It literally opened my mind to think, "I am sorry you had to go through this Jesus.  I know it's hard being a "Nigger Man".
      In the past our society was saying, "Racism isn't like it use to be. Things are better than what it was.  We had it much harder then."  I AGREE TO A CERTAIN EXISTENT!  But.... Hold on now......... Lay back down.  Ok.  You have to realize that things have not gotten better, it has only changed, to become different.  The President of this land has so much hatred against him:  Society dislikes his race.  Society does not want him to rule the land.  Society does not want him to set directions as a leader,  Society do not like "those of his kind",  Society questions the knowledge he has and the words he speak. Society does not want to give him a chance and society does not want to hear him.  OK. Here we go again.  You're gonna have to read this again.  Here we go. . . . . . .




 Jesus had so much hatred against Him/Her:  Society disliked His/Her race.  Society did not want Him/Her to rule the land.  Society did not want Him/Her to set directions as a leader.  Society did not like "those of His/Her kind",  Society questions the knowledge He/She had and the words He/She spoke.  Society did not want to give Him/Her a chance and society did not want to hear Him/Her.  Man it makes me feel so bad for Jesus.  "You know how I feel Jesus.  I'm also a Nigger Man."




  Now think.  Don't you see the light that's being shined directly in our eyes.  You have to give ones a chance before you judge them.  Every President was given a chance.  They were questioned and not agreed upon, but they were given a chance to fall themselves.  President Obama hasn't had the chance to fall alone.  People have been so negatively involved in his Presidency, that he can point fingers at others if he fails. That's if he wants to.  But let President Obama fall and then pick at him.  You people are so filled with hate.  Do you think the "Nigga Man" upstairs likes that?  He didn't create you like that.  He created you to love one another.  Now stop trying to make the world your own and man up as respectful human beings. "I see your viewpoint and feel your heart Jesus. I'm proud to say that I'm also a Nigger Man".


  So if you read this and realize that President Obama goes through the same thing Jesus did,  "Jesus, Obama and I will enjoy heaven.  We will enjoy a slave free atmosphere as Nigga Men".


  I am a Strong Black Brotha'.  Please don't get offended by this blog.  I'm just helping you better understand how Jesus was degraded by humans who hated Him/Her.  I can't take it from the viewpoint of a Latino, Caucasian, Japanese etc . . . Cruelty to animals is a thing that I wish upon no animal.  It is not Christ like.  But have the animals, in God's creation, forgiven him?  I bet they ALL have.  Has God forgiven him?  I bet He/She has.  So why can't you PERFECT animal lovers forgive my Brotha' Mike as you all walk as sinless people with sinless ways.  At least you are acting sinless.  Since you all are quick forgivers of child abusers, women abusers, killers, etc. . . be forgivers of animal abusers who ask for forgiveness from their hearts.  Is it because the Bible say's to 'forgive one another'?  Was God wrong for not putting 'Forgive men who are cruel to animals'?

   The same way human beings forgive a killer of another human being, why can't we forgive a man found guilty for killing animals?  He did his time, while obeying your justice system, turned his life around and now is a great role model speaking with regrets towards his evil PAST.  Not only a great role model towards what he regrets, but a great role model towards holding on to his Football dreams, his goals, his love and his relationship with God.

    My Point is,  "Leave the Brotha' alone and jump people filled with guilt towards the lives and cruelty towards human-being.  Do not stop jumping those who are cruel to animals, but me quicker to forgive them."

Black Man telling President to get out of Office!

 
     Dear President OB.  Hope are you doing?  Hope Sista' Michelle and your Beautiful children are doing well.
    It's time to step down Brotha' President.  I support you 111%, but they will not let a human being of our race step into office and earn the credit of bringing America out of a recession.  The Republicans, racist and Tea Party said at the beginning,  "We do not want an African Americans in office."  So if they don't want a Black Man in office, you think they want a Black man to be successful in office?
  
    You have passed laws that have been and will be beneficial to the American people.  Those are credits I appreciate but there are those who only give them minor credits.  There are even some of our people who disrespect you because they feel you are not doing enough for us.  I've been in this American game for decades and realize that you can't focus more than 1% on us until you're re-elected.  They should know that.  Even in simple America, if blacks want to keep a job, you have to lean to the kiss rear end side and give it the best kiss ever.  As you take care of the 99% (+) of the US, we, as African Americans, do have what it takes to make our children, families, schools, education etc . . . successful.  At least there should be an effort.  We'll take care of our people. You take care of the US. 
    My bad Brotha' OB, I kinda got off.  So, when you brought osama bin laden to justice, it was so hard for you to be credited.  Some couldn't even say, "Great job.  Success."  They even went about picking reasons to say, "you did this and you did that" wrong as you accomplished the mission that had cost billions during President Bush's reign.  But I liked the way you held your chest out without saying a word.  We know you took care of situation that has some parts in this recession, Thanks.

CASEY GO SIT DOWN SOMEWHERE! O.J. WAS TO DUMB TO.

     Remember the case O.J. was involved in?  Remember the jury found him innocent?  After the verdict was read all the man had to do was leave society alone and eat, sleep, drink lemon-aid and play golf.
   
    He was taken under the wings by his millionaire friends and family who helped him financially.  But the dummy had to be a foul and re-enter into the world, into society or you can say cross his boundaries.  His steak and lobster wasn't cooked well so he decided to order bread and water.  He wasn't let down.  He's getting what he wanted.  I hope his bread isn't to soggy and his toilet water is clean.  You may want to give him a call for some advice towards hibernation. 


   I know your palms are getting sweaty,  you have that sh*tty grin on your face and your horns are developing slowly, but surely.  I saw you and your attorney having that party across the street from the court house.  I'm sure you partied the best.  I see you can still bump and grind.
    Your brain is worn out and your palms are sweating as you're thinking about completing your up and coming hard back book to make you a millionaire as it make it as the "Top Seller".  Your magazines, movie, gossip sites, interviews etc. . . deals are coming.  I bet you'll make enough money to get an investigation team so Caylee will have her fair opportunity,. . . . but you won't.


   NOW TAKE YOUR A&& AND HIDE FROM THE WORLD!!!  You know that for the rest of your life questions will be asked.  Any facial gestures will make people question the verdict of you being found not guilty.  DO NOT get involved with the media!  DO NOT get involved with life itself.  DO NOT get involved with your family, you have done pissed them off.  Go and find you an Ice Glacier, dig an 8 mile place of resting, find some pigeons who know nothing about the case and let them help get fish to you, for your daily bread.  DO NOT let them know who you are, . .  you may starve to death.  DO NOT let anyone know where you are.  Your name will be questioned and hated for the rest of your life.


  But remember how stupid O.J. was.  Look at where the foul is now.  You may not have the millionaires to help like he did.  So just find your glacier,  party alone, don't take any sperm donations with you and stay lost.

Trails of Tears Cherokee Mtns North Carolina

I have just walked upon stolen land.  I rubbed shoulders with pacified people,

 I even pissed on a tree that doesn't belong to man.

Please forgive us, we didn't ask for the free ride across the sea, But upon arrival we've had to pay a fee. 

Today I'd aboard a slave ship stamped RTS,  Back to the Motherland, where Jah took the 7th day rest.

I apologize for building my home with stolen wood.

I apologize for making your livestock become extinct,

 To Every young one growing up with those people on your back.  Remember you all are smart!!


 You may put forth an effort that scores you an A in English, but you're terrible at math.  English may bring you satisfaction but Science you can't pass.  Your 110% may go into Occupational Education-(OE) class but you don't dig Biology.  Your parents are proud of their young one and gives you $100 for the A you made in that OE class.  They know that's your goal you want to pursue.  They know that's what you're best at.  You have come to realize cooking is your game so that BIG UNIVERSITY is not on your map.  You may say, "Forget college" as you head to trade school.  Then you become the owner of a restaurant and a great cook.


   i'm terrible at English and horrible at math.  Can't stand biology and awful at science.  But history is my thing.  i really enjoy Black History, War History, Biblical History and Slavery History.  Put me in front of A&E, Animal Channel, History Channel, Military Channel, National Geographic Channel, Discovery Channel,  Planet Green Channel and MSNBC.  Don't bother me until the power goes out." 


  But when i think about being told, "i'm not the smartest person in the universe", i say to myself, 


  The Greatest goal i've had for 21 years, i accomplished it.  That goal was a record deal.  i've been working on some tracks that i've been asked to put in a movie.  "So i am a smart man in what i do best." 


   Then i got into filming. i've been in film for about 5 years.  Seriously focusing about 2yrs.  Lost focus on my goal in filming but picked it back up in February of this year (2011).  i put those goals back into my hands and within the last 4 months I have produced a film trailer.  it has gotten me a signed deal with an Agency, Producer and a Production Company.  I'm not doing janitorial work or mowing their lawns,  they love the film concepts i have put into their hands.  "i guess that's something else i do best. . . Success."


    "Make sure you don't lose focus in what you want to do.  if you become a garbage truck drive, be the best at it, realizing you are a neccessity.  if you become a scientist, secretary, house maid or a Doctor.  Remember that you are a must.  Let no one pull down your dreams, your goals and your self-esteem.  You also are the best."


  To those who say, "Funk's not smart."  I'm going to have to disagree with you. "Pick up my guitar and show me what an Aadd9 is."  I'm just saying.

SEND OUR JAIL PRISONERS TO WAR!!!

   Why don't US bring back the military and take my advice!!!!!  Why can't US just send all of our Prisoner's into Afghanistan,  Libya, Iraq or wherever we have war.  I disagree with war but I feel it would help save innocent military veterans and save our tax money.  The prisoners can pay back to the US what they have taken away.


   EX. Meet John Doe
-Joe Doe has been sentenced to 5yrs to Life.
-We will send John over into war torn area's where the US is involved in war.
-John must have a special ID to return to the USA.
-If he is not given that ID upon returning, he can not escape back into the US.
-Let John live in the line of fire,  dig the trenches, dodge bombs and live in the heat.  Don't set up their living quarters, let them live in tents while using magazines to fan as their air conditioner. etc. . .
-If John wants to escape let him go.  They don't like Americans anyway so he will get lynched.
-I feel they will learn Respect for themselves,  Respect for others and the Respect for freedom.
-Upon return into the US they will realize the joy of freedom and become an honest tax paying US Citizen.  If not, send them back and make it worse on them.  Then they will live in a 8X10 with only 23 hrs of sunlight.
-The ones who have only years left in prison, bring them back into the US and put them in the strawberry and orange fields. Put them in infrastructure work.  Let this be their rehab to prepare them to become respectful US citizens upon release.  Don't take the jobs from the tax paying construction working citizens. Give them a raise and give them other jobs in that field. US complains about immigrants, that will keep them from coming because they have no jobs.
-Let the new comers of the Military protect the board.
-Knowing how survival is difficult in the US, after being released, some prisoners will want to stay over there.
-They need no steak and Lobster.  Keep giving them bread and H2O.
-Separate their living quarters by the time they have to remain in prison.
-When it's time for them to return to the US, they will be returned by the military with the proper papers to return into the US.  Upon release into society, they will go to the fields and infrastructure work for their rehabilitation.
- Give the prisoners money to the military veterans.  Let them get back on their feet and to get their needs. They will no longer have to work again.
-We can get US back on its feet with the money we save from keeping up prisons camps in the US.
-Help our senior citizens
-Help us get free insurance
-Help those low income families
-Get the jobless ones back on their feet.

My Friend had "Sex with a Dog?

  I have a friend that is one of the most Beautiful Women in the World.  Trust me.  She thinks that sex with "dogs" is ok.  You and I know it's wrong and I try my best to tell her that she is disrespecting herself and her Temple (body).  She knows it's wrong and has even gone to a shrink about it.  She has great friends that hang with her.  We can't stand it because we try to help her but she doesn't listen.  We will not even go into her house because we do not want to be involved in the nasty vibes he gives it.  There has been times she has gone to the dr cause she stated itching.  We told her he probably brought something home.  She shouldn't be sleeping with him anyway.  He might have brought a disease into the house.  Yuck!!  But she still sleeps in the bed with him.  As soon as she opens the door he comes running and they start kissing on one another. She actually kisses him in the mouth.  It's sicking not knowing he could have given her something last time.  A lot of times we get there and you can tell in his eyes that he has done something wrong but he's trying to hide it.  She doesn't see what we see.  There has been times when she gets mad at him, kicks him out of the house and want let him back in.  But like always, he's at the door crying and begging to get back in.  Her neighbors get tired of it sometimes and call the cops on him.  Cops say, "You're either gonna have to let him in ma'am or we're gonna take him in."  But she always tell the cops everything is ok."  Then she lets him back in."  He runs, sticks his lip out and then she's back with him.  One time he snuck out of the house and was gone for days.  She told us she was gonna get counseling and would never let him back in.  We told her that all he does is lay around and takes her money.   She knows what she's doing is wrong.  We take her home and there he was on the porch.  He couldn't get back into the window he jumped out of so he waited on her.  We were surprised the neighbors didn't call the cops on him.  Sometimes he goes over the neighbors house just to suck up to them.   It makes Sharie look bad because they think he's not that bad.  Now they call the cops when they hear a high female voice scream from her apartment.  But we're trying to get her away from him and end their relationship.  But anyway,

      Attention my Beautiful Black Sista's:
  His name is Jermain.  6'3 around 189lbs.  He has no job and wears gold teeth.  Lives in New Jersey.  Tattoo's all over his body.  Make sure You watch out for this dog Sista's, there is no love in his heart.

"I'm tired of being black."

  i was approached with the comment, "I'm tired of being Black."  The comment was made by a young Black Brotha' who blames society because his success hasn't come in 1 day.  He asked me,  "Why do Black People battle one another to make it to the top?  We fight to make it to the top of success."  I responded, "That's what we have been taught."  Our minds are not set to make it to the top of corporate America.  We are set to make the 2nd string position because we feel that we can't be 1st string.  We want to be the quarterback because we have lack in faith towards being the coach.  So why can't we work hard to make it to the top?  Remember we have to respect the Brotha' who has worked hard for the position.  He's now the coach.  Why can't we wish the Brotha' the best towards his accomplishment?   He may be able to put your name in the huddle to get the job as the quarterback.  So remember, there is good in everyone.  You have to overlook what's bad and fight to be the best.  The Coaches position may be open tomorrow.

     If we screw up at our place of employment we're fired, replaced the next day and the production hasn't lost its focus.  The BIG WHEELS up top still get the rent for their $12 million home.  They don't stop and point fingers and gossip. They make sure the stay on top to make their peak.

    Americans have Employment and Education problems but our gov't wants to battle amongst themselves to get the 1st string players off the field.  They want the 1st string draft of 2012.

ADVICE: DO NOT WASH YOUR HANDS AFTER #2 , "Is the new Homeland Security?"

  How does the Bathroom carry such place of strong security?  Such Privacy?  #2.  A nice and generous robber will not come into the bathroom and rob you while you are doing #2?  He'll at least wait, let you whip, thoroughly wash your hands, take a good 5-10 second look in the mirror and then scare the next load of sh*t right back out of you when you exit.  But it was very kind of him to wait.
 
    Funk's Advice:  Each time you go to the restroom, take your money into the restroom with you.  Jewelry if it's of important to you.  Once you exit the restroom make sure your money is visible in your hands.  A robber will respect this form of uncleanliness.

  What is wrong with our young ones today?  What is wrong with our households today?  Why do we point in the direction of the children?  Yes, they play a role in it, but what happened to the 'in household involvement'?  Where are we at today?
   I remember when we would do something bad.  Discipline went around the family.  My mom would knock our gums off if we bought home bad grades.  Maw-Maw would beat us.  My Aunt Metta would discipline us in some why or another, Uncle Frank would plunk us on the forehead if we talked back and when my Pop got home we got another beaten.  Look what it did to us:

A Black Man's Views on Natural Hair

Musician "Funkface" formally known as Kevin, gives his opinion on natural hair and believes that negative self-images of black beauty were instilled during slavery.

Tell us a little about yourself?

I am an artist, a pure and natural guitarist. I was once a stage performer but now I’m getting ready to return to the evil entertainment industry. I call my character, “Funkface.” I sure don’t look like Denzel so I gave myself that name. Lol, soon I will legally change it because I will not carry the name of my slave master, no disrespect.

  I, also write reality/actuality show concepts, commercials, movie concepts, poetry and anything creative. We at Enter@ctuality Media (www.EnterActualityMedia.com) have several networks and production companies interested in some concepts as we move forward.  Recently, I’ve been offered another record deal. I refused my last one but I think I’ll hold on to this one. I’ve worked with Lil’ Kim, Fishbone, Luke Skywalker, 2-Live Crew, Sublime, Scarface, Jr. Mafia, Nappy Roots and many other artists. When you see an attractive woman in passing, what is the first thing you notice about her?

Well, because of the lack of respect our brothas show towards sistas, I look at her course of action towards a strong black brotha that is showing her due respect. So, it will be her facial reaction upon eye contact.

What do you think of black beauty in America?

Good Question. Ummmm, ummmm, ummmm. Lol, I think of Strength, Pride and Success.

Do you think that the media has a massive influence over the definition of beauty and has set the standard of what the epitome of beauty is defined as?

That’s the force behind the word beauty. It’s terrible how we secure our minds and thoughts towards the word “beauty” but in a negative way. Majority of the time we hear the word “Beauty”, we don’t think about Webster’s version of the word, we think about it in a sexual way. We think about it from our personally created dictionary. (HBO, MTV, and different Television shows). That is what drowns the word of its meaning.

There has been a lot of controversy stating that black men are not receptive of black women with natural hair, would you date a black woman with natural hair?

Of course! Life was given to her while she was pure and natural. She was shipped here pure and natural, so she will be loved by this black brotha as pure and natural.  Respect to my Beautiful Black Sistas!

Do you think that hair has any effect on the ability for a woman to maintain a successful relationship? Explain.

Most definitely, some brothas can’t accept sistas with very short hair because of their manly manhood. I say, “Your fear is your fantasy!” Some don’t like store bought hair, some don’t like natural hair, some like relaxers and some don’t. It goes in different directions.

One of the main reasons women who are on the fence about going natural decide to stick with relaxers is because they think their natural hair will make them less attractive and disrupt their dating life. What would you say to woman who addressed this concern to you?

Your mind is still stuck as a slave. It was the look of the “master’s wife” that drew the attention of other wives and even your attention. Slaves recognized that as the standard of beauty so as of today, we have even started buying it. Not growing it, but buying it.

With the 60’s and 70’s came the attention of the, “blond hair and blue eyed” white woman seen on the billboards smoking a cigarette with her stringy, long hair. That was considered as “sexy” while stealing the eyes of the black man from our sistas. So, for sistas to gain attention they had to go where the attention was coming from. And now it’s considered as a sign of success within the system- better job opportunities, more attractive and more successful. There is an advantage to being “white-like,” and I mean no disrespect.

Have you ever been turned off by a woman because her hair was natural?

No I have not. Eve was a Sista created with natural hair. Get your Good Book out and read Daniel 7:9 and Daniel’s vision of God. He spoke of Jah with hair like wool. That sure isn’t a relaxer. That wasn’t a Caucasian. That was a pure black God.

When you hear the term “nappy,” what immediately comes to mind?

It has nothing to do with uncleanness but more of an uncombed look. Dreadlocks are part of a culture so I don’t look at it as being unclean.

How would you feel if you were dating a woman who wore a scarf or bonnet to bed to “preserve” her hair? Would you be any less attracted to her?

Not at all. I approached her {my lady} with interest. She had a relaxer then so I’ll die, still having interest, with her and her relaxer. She is still my Beautiful Black Queen wanting what she wants. But, sometimes we do need to save some money. It can get expensive, lol. Respect.

Natural hair has been stereotyped as “dirty” or unhygienic, what are your thoughts on this?

Please, don’t get me stuck on slavery. Lol, we would be sitting here all day. Before we were robbed of our spirits, our beliefs, our culture, our love for oneself and love for one another, it was not considered dirty. It was from us being degraded, called unclean, and called dirty so it was drilled into our minds and we lost ourselves because we were not like “them” {whites}. We showered and bathed them with water and herbs from Jah.

What hairstyle on a black woman would turn you off completely, if any?

There is not one.

Most naturals say that their hair has improved their dating life. Why do you think this is so?

We are starting to learn more about our African heritage, OUR culture. They didn’t teach enough about Black History when I was in school and we didn’t get any on the television. So, I think as time moves forward and history is brought to the table, we learn more about our culture and the beauty within. The great things we brought with our people and the great things we do today.
